I’m dieting and lost some weight but it’s left my breasts looking a little saggy. How can I add more volume back to my bust? I’m not keen on having implants.
Unfortunately, when dieting you can’t choose where you’re going to lose fat and sometimes we see a reduction in areas where we’d rather not, especially the breasts.
Fat grafting can be a good solution for those who just want a little more volume without changing the breast shape or going up too much in size. The main advantage of fat grafting is that it is using your own tissue, but the downside is there is a limit on how much volume can be added in one procedure, usually around one cup size. During the procedure fat is harvested from one area of your own body by liposuction, usually the thighs, abdomen or flanks, then transferred to the treatment area by injections. Techniques have evolved enormously over the last few years and the latest procedures use local anesthesia and cause little bruising, swelling or discomfort with minimum recovery time, although you do need to be careful with the treated area for about 8 weeks post procedure. The benefits of fat transfer also include a lower cost than having implant surgery, no allergic reaction and a more natural result. You may need a top up treatment annually as not all the fat will stay. Expect to pay from £3500.
There are very few things you can do naturally that will increase the overall size of your breast or chest tissues.
That said, exercise could change the overall appearance of your pectoral muscles, which lie under your breast tissues. Targeting these muscles through strength training exercises can result in a change in chest-tissue size, density, strength, and tone. Try regular exercises like push-ups and chest presses.
Although a bra can’t change your breasts, the right one will support and lift them and help restore the look you want under clothing. Look for a full-cup bra, by far the best option for a sagging bust and if you are unsure of your new bra size do ask for a fitting. As for creams promising to boost your bust, don’t waste your money. Instead, lavish the same time and care on your chest and breasts as you do your face The most sensitive and thinnest skin on the body is on and around the breasts so moisturise daily with creams rich in ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, coenzyme Q10, hyaluronic acid, as well as B vitamins, namely, niacinamide. Your normal moisturiser will do the job just as well or try Olay Hyaluronic Acid 24 + Vitamin B5 Day Gel Moisturiser with Niacinamide, £38. And always apply a minimum SPF of 30 to any areas exposed to the sun.
